In the current year Sochi international forum has become the main investment forum of the country and remained the summit for entrepreneurs, the site, where business is made.

55 regions of Russia submitted their investment proposals to Russian and foreign business.

Almost 90 percent of the 2006 forum participants arrived in Sochi again and brought their business-partners along.

Over the year the number of the forum participants increased 2.5 times - respectively from 4,000 up to 10,000 persons from 14 up to 36 countries.

The area of exhibition spaces more than tripled (from 15,000 up to 55,000 square meters)..

At International Investment Forum "Sochi-2007" Krasnodar Region represented 1200 investment projects total worth of EURO 12 billion.

The exposition of the region occupied more than 3,500 square meters and comprised 65 models of the most large-scale projects, proposed by the region to be implemented on their territory. It became the largest and the most popular among the regional exhibition expositions of the forum - the pavilion of Krasnodar Region was visited by more than 9,000 participants of "Sochi-2007".

The state investments in the Olympic program, in the creation of tourist-recreational and gambling zones on the territory of Krasnodar Region evoked the real boom of private investments.

In the current year at the investment fair Krasnodar Region signed 132 agreements worth of almost USD 17 billion (RUR 455 billion).

Thus, compared to the forum of 2006 our crop of investment (the amount of agreements) grew three times.

In addition to these investment contracts the letter of intent with M-Industriya (Russia, Saint-Petersburg) and Allied Business Consultants (UAE, Abu-Dabi) was signed about the construction of a landscape-recreational complex "Ostrov Federatsii" (Federation Island) in Sochi water area. The amount of investment in this project unique by scale and complexity might total EURO 6 billion till 2013.

As for the state investments, Krasnodar Region concluded agreement "On implementation of investment projects on creation of transportation infrastructure projects on the territory of Krasnodar Region on the basis of state-private partnership, including road-construction project "Krasnodar-Abinsk-Kabardinka" worth of RUR 113 billion with Vnesheconombank and the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

The state-private partnership, investment in the infrastructure and the Olympic Games of 2014 became the main subject for discussion at the Forum. And the list of agreements, signed by Krasnodar Region over three days of "Sochi-2007" work testify to the fact that private investors display the greatest interest to the Olympic construction in Sochi and Krasnodar reconstruction, as well as to resort, transportation, industrial and agro-industrial sector of the most southern region of Russia.

After these agreements are fulfilled in the next two-three years, tens of super modern hotels, tourist, shopping and residential complexes, large plants, port and logistic terminals will appear in the region. This investment flow is to be directed virtually to each town and district of the region.

"Basic Element" has confirmed its intention to invest more than EURO 1 billion in projects and social-economic programs on the territory of Krasnodar Region.

In the near future developers with world brands will enter the territory of the region. The administration of Krasnodar Region signed an agreement with "International Hotel License Company S.A.R.L." (100 subsidiary company "Mariott", the USA, Washington), about the construction of "Courtyard Krasnodar MARRIOT" hotel in Krasnodar and with "Kempinski" (Switzerland, Geneva) about the construction of four "Kempinski" hotels in Sochi and a golf-club at the Black Sea coast of Krasnodar Region. IKEA announced about its intention to build shopping centers in Sochi and Krasnodar.

Russian companies did not keep out from the big Olympic construction either. "Petra-Sochi" LLC is to spend EURO 124 million fore the construction of a multifunctional sports complex in Adler district of Sochi, and "Kurortinvest" is to spend EURO 131 million for the construction of a multipurpose complex in Khosta district of Sochi.

Not only Sochi, but also the whole Black Sea coast, as well as Kuban capital, enjoy great popularity among the investors.

The agreement about the construction of resort-recreational complex "Zolotaya Milya" (Golden Mile) on the territory of Anapa worth of EURO 2.1 billion was signed with "Baltikpromgroup" (Russia, Saint-Petersburg), with "Von During Management AG" (Switzerland, Lucern) - the agreement was signed about the construction of 6 construction materials hypermarkets on the territory of Krasnodar region (EURO 60 milion) and "Karasun" residential complex in Krasnodar (EURO 60 million), with "Attleborough Holding Limited" (Cyprus, Nicosia) - about the creation of a coastal amusement SPA-hotel "Chernomorets Park" in Sochi (EURO 70 million), with "Linstow" (Norway) - about the construction of a hotel and and an office center in Krasnodar (EURO 115 million), with "Pisec" (Austria, Vienna) - about the construction of resort complex "Austrian Village" on the territory of Gelendzhik.

"Krokus-International" is to build in Krasnodar a multifunctional shopping and office center worth of more than EURO 500 million. Demirsu insaat turizm A.S from Turkey is ready to invest more than EURO 100 million in construction of a resort complex in Tuapse District and a five-star hotel in Krasnodar. BV Development is to invest more than EURO 70 million in construction of a multifunctional shopping and business complex in Krasnodar. "Taller Capital" (Great Britain - Russia, Moscow) is ready to invest EURO 85 million in the development of a network of hotels, gas stations and warehousing premises and construction of a sports and health improvement complex on the territory of the region.

The investors displayed serious interest to the transportation sector of the region.

London-based "Raven Russia" from Great Britain together with "Logistic Kuban" firm are ready to invest EURO 43 million in the construction of an intermodal logistic complex in Krasnodar. State corporation Vnesheconombank together with oil company "Severnoe Siyanie" and "Azov Transportation Company" are to invest more than EURO 70 million in construction of a north-eastern cargo district of port Kavkaz in Temryuk District, and "Eurasia Logistic" is ready to invest about EURO 50 million in construction of a production-logistic complex in Krasnodar.

We are to get serious financial investment in the regional industrial sector in the near future.

The following agreements were signed: with the Industrial Union of Donbass about the construction of plants for the production of sanitary-hygienic articles and paper processing (EURO 257 million), with ATIS - about the construction of a mining-and-processing integrated works, with "Region-Invest" - about the construction of plants for the manufacture of float-glass and glass tare.

The food industry was not set aside either - the agreements with investors were reached about the construction of pectin, sugar and starch plants (more than EURO 325 million investments). In addition to that, the agreement about construction of a mega-complex for pig breeding of 100,000 pigs capacity (EURO 34 million) was reached with Canada-based Genesus Genetics.
